Your Learning Path

Learning at Your Own Pace

A general illustration of how a learner's digital journey typically unfolds — step by step, with no pressure to rush.

Your Very First Login

Getting comfortable with a device, creating an account, and understanding the basics of navigating a screen. There's no rush here — this step alone can take as long as it needs to.

STEP 1
STEP 2

Email Fundamentals

Writing, sending, and organizing emails. Understanding spam and how to keep your inbox manageable. A foundational skill that opens many doors.

Safe Online Browsing

Knowing the difference between trustworthy and suspicious websites. Understanding private browsing, strong passwords, and why they matter for your safety.

STEP 3
STEP 4

Online Collaboration

Video calls, shared documents, and simple collaboration tools. These skills allow you to connect with family, friends, or professional contacts more easily.

Digital Independence

Using digital tools confidently on your own terms — booking appointments, accessing government services, or simply browsing with ease. This is the goal: quiet, steady confidence.

STEP 5
Our Programs

What We Offer

Three structured educational programs, each designed for a specific stage of digital learning — and each built around patience, clarity, and respect for your experience.

Beginner

Digital Foundations for Beginners

This program introduces you to the essential building blocks of digital life. Starting from the very beginning, we cover how to use a device, connect to the internet, manage a basic email account, and navigate common websites safely. Everything is explained clearly, and nothing is assumed.

Who it's for: Adults who are new to digital devices, or who have limited experience and want a calm, structured starting point.
Not suited for: Those already comfortable with email, web browsing, and smartphone basics who are looking for advanced skill development.

This is an educational program only. It does not lead to employment or guarantee any specific outcome. Participation requires a compatible device and a reliable internet connection.

Intermediate

Remote Work Skills Orientation

This program explores the kinds of digital skills that are commonly used in online work environments — such as file organization, communication tools, document sharing, and basic scheduling software. It is designed to give you an honest, grounded understanding of how these platforms work, without making unrealistic promises about outcomes.

Who it's for: Adults with basic digital familiarity who want to understand online work tools more clearly and build practical organizational skills.
Not suited for: Anyone expecting a job placement service. This is skills education only.

This program does not guarantee employment, income, or placement. It is purely educational. Remote work involves real requirements that depend on individual circumstances well beyond any training program.

Safety

Online Safety & Scam Awareness

Designed specifically for older adults, this program helps you understand how online scams work, what to watch for, and how to protect your personal information. We go through common scenarios, explain warning signs clearly, and show you practical steps to keep yourself safe online — without making the internet feel frightening.

Who it's for: Any adult who wants to use the internet more safely and understand how to protect themselves from online fraud and deception.
Not suited for: Those looking for cybersecurity training at a technical or professional level.

This program is educational in nature and covers general awareness topics. It does not replace professional cybersecurity services or legal advice.

What Learners Share

Experiences From Our Community

These are reflections from people who've participated in our programs. We share them so you can get a realistic sense of what the experience is like.

★★★★★

I came into this program barely knowing how to turn on my laptop. Nobody made me feel embarrassed about that. The pace was slow enough that I could actually follow along without panic. I can now send emails and even attach photos — things I genuinely thought were beyond me.

★★★★★

I was suspicious of online programs at first — I've heard too many stories of things that promise a lot and deliver nothing. What I found here was straightforward and honest. They told me what the program was and what it wasn't. That kind of transparency meant a lot to me.

Robert H. Retired electrician, Kelowna, BC — Online Safety participant
★★★★★

My daughter had been trying to teach me to use Zoom for months. After going through the foundation program, I finally understood why I was confused — I was missing context I didn't even know I was missing. It clicked. We video call every Sunday now and I set it up myself.

Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers to questions we hear most often from prospective learners and their families.

No prior experience is assumed in our Digital Foundations program. We genuinely start from the beginning — what a device is, how to hold it, how to turn it on, and go from there. If you have some experience but feel uncertain, any of our programs can be a good fit. Take the readiness quiz above to get a clearer sense of where you might start.
We want to be completely clear: our programs are educational only. We do not offer job placement, employment connections, or any guarantee of income. The Remote Work Skills Orientation is designed to help you understand digital work tools — not to secure you a position. Whether or how that knowledge is used is entirely up to you and depends on many factors beyond what any course can provide.
You'll need a device (a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone), and a reliable internet connection. If you're unsure whether your equipment is suitable, please reach out to us through the contact page and we'll help you figure it out before you commit to anything.
Life happens — and we design our programs with that in mind. Our sessions are structured to be self-contained enough that missing one won't leave you completely lost. We also offer recorded material and written summaries where possible. If you're concerned, simply reach out to us and we'll do our best to support you.
No. Tivronex is an independent, private educational organization based in Vernon, British Columbia, Canada. We are not affiliated with any government agency, Crown corporation, or publicly funded institution. We operate as a private educational business and are transparent about that fact.
We take your privacy seriously. We collect only the information necessary to deliver our programs and respond to inquiries. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy.
Absolutely. Many participants have a family member or support person sit with them, especially in the early sessions. What matters is that you're the one learning — we'll do the teaching. We encourage whatever setup helps you feel most comfortable and supported.
