Our Educational Programs

Three distinct programs, each designed for a different stage of digital learning. All of them share the same foundation: clarity, patience, and honesty about what education can and cannot do.

A Note Before You Read

All Tivronex programs are educational. They are designed to build skills and confidence — not to guarantee employment, income, or any particular life outcome. We ask that you read the full program descriptions, including the "who it's not for" sections, so you can make an informed decision about whether a program is right for you.

Program 1 — Beginner

Digital Foundations for Beginners

An honest introduction to the digital world — starting from the beginning.

This program is built for adults who are genuinely new to digital technology, or who have limited experience and have found that most available resources assume too much. We begin with the most fundamental concepts — what a device is, how to interact with it, how to connect to the internet — and move forward in small, manageable steps.

The focus throughout is not on speed or mastery. The focus is on comfort. We want you to leave each session feeling a little more settled than when you arrived.

What the Program Covers

  • Getting familiar with your device: buttons, screens, and basic navigation
  • Connecting to Wi-Fi and understanding internet access
  • Setting up and using an email account
  • Writing, sending, and receiving messages with attachments
  • Basic web browsing: searching, reading pages, and navigating safely
  • Recognizing trustworthy versus suspicious websites
  • Understanding passwords and keeping your accounts secure
  • Using video calling apps to connect with family or friends

Delivery Format

Sessions are delivered remotely via video call, with screen-sharing support where helpful. All materials are provided in plain language. Sessions are recorded and available for review.

Who This Program Is For

Adults aged 55+ who are new to digital devices or the internet, who may feel anxious or overwhelmed by technology, or who have had negative experiences with other learning resources that moved too quickly or used unfamiliar language.

Who This Program Is Not For

This program is not suited to adults who are already comfortable with email, web browsing, and smartphone navigation, and who are looking for more advanced skill development.
Transparency Statement: This is an educational program only. Completing it does not lead to a certificate recognized by employers, nor does it guarantee any specific outcome, employment, or income. The value is in the skills and confidence you build — how you apply them is entirely your own.

Program 2 — Intermediate

Remote Work Skills Orientation

Understanding how digital work tools function — without promises about what they'll deliver.

Online work platforms have grown considerably in recent years. Freelance marketplaces, remote collaboration tools, scheduling software, shared document systems — these are real, and they are increasingly part of how many organizations operate. This program helps you understand them clearly.

We want to be specific about what this program is: it is a skills orientation, not a job placement program. We will help you understand how these tools work, how to use them competently, and what working in digital environments typically involves. What happens after that depends on your own circumstances, goals, and effort — factors that are entirely beyond the scope of any educational program.

What the Program Covers

  • Overview of common online work platforms and how they function
  • Setting up and managing a professional online profile
  • Understanding digital file management and organization
  • Using shared document and spreadsheet tools
  • Basic digital communication: professional email, messaging apps
  • Online calendar and scheduling tools
  • Video conferencing for professional contexts
  • Understanding digital privacy in work-related contexts

Delivery Format

Sessions are delivered remotely via structured video sessions. Participants are expected to have basic digital familiarity — this is not an introductory program. Written guides supplement each session.

Who This Program Is For

Adults with basic digital skills who want a clearer, structured understanding of how online work environments function. Suitable for those who are curious about remote work but want to approach it thoughtfully and realistically.

Who This Program Is Not For

This program is not a job placement service, a freelancing agency, or a pathway to guaranteed income. It is not suited to absolute beginners (please consider Digital Foundations first), and it will not produce employment results on its own.
Transparency Statement: Online work involves competitive environments, self-discipline, and a range of personal factors that no educational program can address fully. We will help you understand the landscape — but we cannot guarantee that you will find work, earn money, or succeed in any particular direction. Please approach this program as an investment in knowledge, not in outcome.

Program 3 — Safety

Online Safety & Scam Awareness

Practical tools for protecting yourself online — without turning the internet into something to fear.

Online scams targeting older adults have become more sophisticated and more common in recent years. This program was developed specifically in response to that reality. Our goal is not to frighten people away from using the internet — it's to help you understand what warning signs look like, why certain approaches are used, and how to protect yourself practically and calmly.

We draw on real examples and walk through common scenarios in detail. By the end of the program, you should feel more settled when something suspicious appears, rather than panicked or confused.

What the Program Covers

  • Understanding why older adults are frequently targeted online
  • Common scam types: phishing emails, fake websites, phone scams, and social media fraud
  • How to recognize suspicious messages and links
  • Strong passwords and two-factor authentication explained clearly
  • Safe online shopping and what to look for on legitimate websites
  • How to report a scam to Canadian authorities
  • Protecting personal information: what to share and what to keep private
  • How to talk to family members about online safety concerns

Delivery Format

Sessions are delivered remotely. This program is accessible to learners at any digital skill level, from basic to intermediate. Printed summaries of key warning signs are provided to all participants.

Who This Program Is For

Any adult who wants to feel more confident and less vulnerable online. This program is appropriate whether you're a beginner or an experienced internet user — scams affect people at every level of experience.

Who This Program Is Not For

This program is not a technical cybersecurity course. It does not prepare participants for IT security roles or provide professional credentials. It covers consumer-level awareness and personal protection strategies only.
Transparency Statement: Education about scam awareness reduces risk, but does not eliminate it. New scam methods emerge regularly, and no educational program provides absolute protection. This program provides a strong foundation of awareness and practical tools — but ongoing vigilance is also essential.
